God Gives & God Takes ! - A Sharing from a Sermon

There was a little girl named Jane. When she was about eight years old her father asked her what she wanted most for her birthday.

??Jane, what do you like for your birthday this year???

??Dad, I think I would like to have a pearl necklace just like mum,?? answered the little girl.

On her eighth birthday, true enough her father bought her a pearl necklace as her birthday present. She was very happy and she wore it almost every day. After a few years, though the necklace was old she still cleaned it and took very good care of it. Every year she would receive some presents but this necklace was the one she treasured most.

Eventually she when she was about to turn eighteen years old, her father asked her again,

??Jane, I would like to give you a special present for your eighteen??s birthday but before I give you the present you have to give me back the pearl necklace that I gave you on your eight birthday.??

??Oh no Dad, the necklace has been with me since I was eight and it has been with me since then. I cannot give it back to you.?? answered Jane.

??Well, in that case I cannot give you any special present then,?? replied her father.

Upon hearing this Jane was very disappointed. After two days she decided to give back the necklace to her father.

??Dad, here is the necklace and I have decided to give it back to you after all.??

Her father was very pleased with her and said ??Jane, you have now grown up into a beautiful lady and here is another pearl necklace for you. This time this is a real genuine pearl necklace to replace the imitation necklace I gave you when you are a child.??

The Chinese has a saying ??The old ones must go before the new ones can come??

Every thing we have comes from God, he can give and take away. Do not be sad if he decided to take it back from you. There was a little girl named Jane. When she was about eight years old her father asked her what she wanted most for her birthday.
