Your Way is NOT God's Way - A sharing from a sermon

It has been raining for the past two weeks and the water level was rising very rapidly. John was waiting in his house and watching the water level anxiously.

??God, please stop the rain and save me and my crops,?? prayed John.

But the raining did not stop, instead it poured and poured and the winds beat against his house even more heavily. A neighbour came driving by with his four wheeler truck and saw him.

??Quick John, come with me or else you be drowned,?? shouted his kind neighbour.

??No, thank you very much but I have prayed to my God for the rain to stop and I have strong faith in him that he will answer me,?? replied John.

Another two days the rain did not stop. The roads were now flooded and useless. Again John prayed to God.

??God, please stop the rain and save me and my crops.??

The rain did not stop and some one came in a boat and saw John in his house.

??Hey you there, come quickly to the boat or you be drowned??

Again John turned down the offer and answered ??No, thank you very much but I have prayed to my God for the rain to stop and I have strong faith in him that he will answer me.??

Another two days and still the rain did not stop. This time John was getting worried. He started to pray even harder for the rain to stop.

??God, please stop the rain and save me.??

Suddenly he heard the sound of a helicopter flying above his head.

??Hey you there, are you alright? You better come with us before you are drowned.??

Again John replied ????No, thank you very much but I have prayed to my God for the rain to stop and I have strong faith in him that he will
answer me.??

Of course eventually John was drowned. When he reached heaven he was very angry with God for not answering his prayers.

??God, why didn??t you come and saved me when I needed you most,?? he asked.

??Yes, I did come to save John, not once but three times. But you wanted it to be your way instead of mine. You wanted the rain to stop but that was not in my plans. Also John, you claimed to know a lot
about me but when I actually came you failed to recognize me.??
