BIBLE KNOWLEDGE AS A COMPULSARY SUBJECT FOR ALL CATHOLIC STUDENTS AT ST. JOSEPH’S SECONDARY SCHOOL MIRI

 

With reference to my letter (Bishop-L1-07) dated 6 December 2007 on the above issue, this is to inform you that Bible Knowledge which has been made a compulsory subject to all Catholic students in Form One will be extended to all forms at St Joseph’s Secondary School Miri . This is also open to all those who are interested with effect from January 2009.

 

2.                  I urge for your cooperation as stated below in order to make this achievable.

 

Role

Contribution / responsibility

Principal

Plan and organize Bible Knowledge to be taught as a compulsory subject to all Catholic students (Form 1 – 5) and all those who are interested.

Teachers

Assist the Principal in monitoring and carrying out the Bible Knowledge class.

Teach Bible Knowledge as a compulsory subject.

Parents

Ensure that your children attend the Bible Knowledge class as arranged by the school.

 

3.         The Word of God is food for our souls and must not be taken lightly either by the principal, teachers, parents and students. As we come together as one in building up the faith of our future generation, may we always remember Mt.24: 35, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.”
